I am an interdisciplinary thinker and creator with extensive training in research methods, social theory, and humanistic traditions.

People typically seek my help with ideation, evaluation, moderation, facilitation, and coordination. I have reviewed writing, design, products, and projects across fields. I have served on admissions and hiring committees, coordinated workshops and presentations, and consulted on a variety of projects (education technology, conferences, oral history archives, publishing, fundraising, etc.) in both volunteer and remunerated capacities. My experience spans space and genre from non-profit communications and grant writing to public speaking and visual art-making.

I am increasingly interested in placemaking opportunities to curate space through sensory, spiritual, and interpersonal design.

My placemaking training began during early life. My father shaped our household’s sonic landscape, and my mother’s creative energy and vision shaped a constantly changing interior and exterior. Her exacting attention to detail and taste influenced my attention to place, space, beauty, and design. She modeled a skill set and way of being that pushed through financial limitations by leveraging relationships, timing, and the long game.

My upbringing and arts training seeped into my approach to scholarship and writing—how I render a sense of the whole through cycling, layering, moving across scale, and decision-making around selective details. My unique personal development coupled with a broad, high-level education shapes my intellectual, artistic, and design capacity and precision. Placemaking is about sensory, cultural, social, physical, and spiritual interaction with space. My artistic, sociological, culturally expansive, sensory-sensitive, and now spiritual and health-motivated background has shaped me into an adept resource and placemaker. I welcome consulting and/or collaborative opportunities to actualize this potential and capacity.
